Straight answers

Questions skilled contractors actually ask.

Is this a W-2 position?

No. This is an independent contractor opportunity. You operate as an independent business and are responsible for your own taxes, tools, and transportation.

Can I work for other companies?

Yes. You may maintain your own customers and work with other companies. Adding project opportunities from Aging In The Comfort Of Home® does not require you to give up any of your existing business.

Do I have to accept every assignment?

No. You review each assignment and accept or decline it. Declining an assignment does not remove you from consideration for future project opportunities.

What is the starting contractor rate?

Generally $25 to $30 an hour, based on experience and approved capabilities. Contractors who build a strong performance record can move toward Lead Technician at $30 to $35 an hour.

How much work is available?

Aging In The Comfort Of Home® currently targets approximately 35 hours a week of project opportunities for each active contractor. Project availability depends on demand, geography, your availability, and which assignments you accept. Hours are not guaranteed.

Who handles customer pricing and payment?

Aging In The Comfort Of Home® does. We set customer pricing, handle billing, collect payment, and manage formal scope changes and customer administrative escalation. You focus on field execution.

Do I need my own tools and transportation?

Yes. As an independent contractor you supply your own tools and transportation, and you carry your own insurance.

What happens after I apply?

Initial review, then a short conversation of about 15 to 20 minutes, then onboarding, orientation, and project eligibility. We aim to respond the same business day whenever practical, and within one business day as a rule.

How do I become a Lead Technician?

Through demonstrated quality, production, customer experience, reliability, and communication, plus management approval. The performance score is shared with you, so advancement is never a mystery.

Submitting this form expresses interest in an independent contractor opportunity and does not create an employment or contractor relationship. Project volume is not guaranteed.

Contractor technicians working with Aging In The Comfort Of Home® are independent contractors, not employees. Contractors operate their own businesses, supply their own tools, transportation, and insurance, are responsible for their own taxes, may accept or decline any assignment, and may maintain other customers and business relationships.

Contractor rates of $25 to $30 an hour, and Lead Technician rates of $30 to $35 an hour, are based on experience, approved capabilities, demonstrated performance, and management approval. Approximately 35 hours a week of project opportunities is a current target, not a guarantee. Actual project availability varies by customer demand, geography, contractor availability, and which assignments a contractor accepts. Lead Technician status is earned and is not automatic.
